in memory of

Katie
Park

February 8, 1942 - April 15, 2025

About Me

Katie will be remembered for many things - her true selflessness, strong faith and adorable goofiness. She had a bottomless well of generosity and it was shared in many forms. She was quietly heroic, often hilarious and never one to take credit. We’ll never be able to adequately put into words how much she meant, how much she gave and how deeply she will be missed.

In lieu of flowers or donations to a named charity, the family would like to channel 1st grade teacher Katie and assign some homework. Your assignment is to open your eyes and your hearts to those around you - a friend, a loved one, or a stranger - and support them as Katie would.

We will have the chance to honor Katie together this summer. Details of the celebration of life will be shared by the family at a later date.

For now, join us in sharing memories, pictures and notes of love for Katie and her family.

Katie Mary Park, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, in Modesto, California, at the age of 83.

So sad to hear of the passing of Katie, my Aunt & Godmother. I'll always remember her as a warm, loving aunt who always greeted me with a warm smile & was so interested in what I was doing. She was always laughing & in such a joyful mood. She was a ray of sunshine & always made me feel special & loved. With much love, Liz (daughter to her brother Cazmo Lukrich)

My sweet Granny! What a gift it was to grow up with your infleunce shaping my life. You modeled everything I want to be. I miss you so much already but I know your love is woven into who I am. I know you rest in peace with BP now, my guardian angels! Love you to the moon, little lady!

Katie & I worked together at VA for a few years. Katie became my best friend! She is a gem of a person that I love so much. We kept in touch after Katie retired. It’s amazing she called me just a few days before passing that I now know was her way of saying goodbye, but never imagined at the time, that we would be losing dear Katie so soon afterwards. Katie’s kindness, 100% devotion to service of her patients, her sense of humor, most graceful personality , the time I was able to spend with her, will be cherished by me forever. I wish the very best to dear Katie’s wonderful family. May God & goodness be with all!

From the yearbook of your future husband...

"Do you realize when we re-read this annual in 4 years we’ll be sitting and reading it together on our own couch. I don’t think I’ve ever wished for 3 1/2 years to pass so quickly. We can read this and remember all the good times we’ve had together and we will be able to look forward to a life of happiness and joy. I’ve never loved living so much as I have these past six months with you. I wonder what our blonde blue-eyed kids will think when they read this (this is for you kids). You have the most wonderful mother in the world. I don’t know any other woman who will sacrifice so much to make other people happy. I, certainly, wasn’t the pick of the crop for your mother but I guess she has been happy enough with me. You kids don’t know how soon I wanted you. If I had my way you would be 3 1/2 years older than you are now. Remember honey I still love you and will always love you, even though I’m going to miss you five days a week. Those will certainly be lonely days. Just promise me you’ll always remain the same and always love me as you do now.

So beautiful. Thank you Kelly for creating this idea in honor of granny. What a beautiful thought. She was a beautiful granny, mom, sister, aunt. Her love stood out in everyone she touched. Love and miss you, mom.
